A family business, still
Stan Kowalczyk started this company in 1987 with one secondhand van and a toolbox he'd been building since his apprentice days. His daughters, Agnes and Dana, have run it since 2016. Stan still answers the phone on Saturday mornings, so don't be surprised if he asks how old your water heater is before he asks your address.
Upfront pricing, every time
Our diagnostic visit is $89, and if you go ahead with the repair we apply it to the bill. Before we pick up a wrench you get a written price for the job, not an hourly rate with a question mark on the end. If the price changes, it's because you asked for something different, and we'll say so first. Our most common prices are posted on the pricing page for anyone to see.
The K&D Promise
One year on labor for every repair. Ten years on parts and two years on labor for every new system we install. If something we fixed isn't right, we come back and make it right, on us. That's the whole promise, and you can read the fine print (there isn't much) on the warranty page.
Techs you'd let in the house
Every K&D technician is background-checked and drug-tested, wears shoe covers indoors, and cleans up before leaving. When your tech is on the way, we text you their name and photo so you know who's ringing the bell.

We've been fixing pipes and furnaces around here long enough to have replaced the water heaters we installed the first time around. Over the years that's added up to tens of thousands of service calls from Plain City to Westerville, and a lot of customers whose kids now call us for their own houses. Today we're 34 people and 19 trucks working out of one shop on the west side of Hilliard, and we still pick up the phone the same way Stan did: "K&D, how can we help?"
